On May 6, 2003 a killer F4 tornado
tour through portions of Pulaski, Massac, and Pope Counties
of Southern Illinois
The Shadow Angel Foundation responded by delivering information to area
schools, mental health agencies, and churches on how to help
kids cope after a disaster. In addition to this more
than $25,000 dollars in cash donations were handed out to
area residents. We donated 1200 brand new
Russ Teddy
Bears (special thank you to Russ Bears for giving us a
discount and working with us on this project) to the children in the impacted counties. Many
parents responded with thank you letters stating that their
children slept with their "storm" bears when the weather
turned stormy. In addition to all of the above a book
was published to help document the event for survivors and
future generations. The book was sponsored by the
Shadow Angel Foundation through private donations.
100% of the money raised from the book was donated back into
the community to help rebuild homes and businesses.
